Im just saying that it would probably cost more loss of lives with a full scale invasion of japan. That would include the island hopping that would have cost 5-10 times the amount lost in the bombing.

Less lives lost I say. When they dropped the bombs on Japan, more than a million lives were lost in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If there were troops that went in incognito to catch the criminals that caused PH, only some lives would have been lost.
