Absolutely not. I haven't asked for that at all, and I never will. There's no point to anyone apologizing. That doesn't do anything. There's no point for anyone to feel guilty. That doesn't do anything.

I just want to be aware of my own internalized racism, and I want to have discussions about racism.

I also wasn't saying that Africans weren't the "most hardcore of slaves"? I was saying that the slavery for Africans lasted longer than slavery of whites from Europe.

bELyVIS: A person doesn't need to be a certain race to be racist. A black person can engage in racist activities against other blacks, without even consciously being aware that he/she was being racist. Racist ideas are usually subconscious.

Also, the point is that - if there were no Affirmative Action - there wouldn't be any equal treatment. The black population, in general, was left off in a worst condition that the white population was. Affirmative Action is for the purpose of equality.

The black population was largely disabled by racism. Many didn't and still don't have skills necessary to be seen at the same level of people who haven't had to deal with slavery, racism, etc. I absolutely support affirmative action.

See, it appears as if the difference between African Americans and all the other ethnicities in America is that you're still using slavery as an excuse, and won't move on. Other ethnicities have suffered yet they moved on. They didn't use waste their time on excuses and instead worked for their successes. I read an article on CNN a few months back about an African American teenager who was essentially homeless yet worked her ass off and as a result, received a scholarship to Harvard. I admire her not using race as an excuse for not earning the scholarship. She actually did something with her time.

Yes, I am. Speaking as someone who will benefit from affirmative action, I still maintain that it is unfair. Clearly you harbor some grudge towards people who have done nothing wrong. No one from that era (U.S.) is still alive today. I will admit, I've met countless Caucasians who are incredibly intelligent yet are unable to procure funds for a decent college education. For simply being 1/8 Native American, I will receive a scholarship and a free ticket to a university in Colorado. What happened to working and earning for things?

This thread needs no continuation and is pointless. With all due respect, but these threads are rubbish. I can't believe how many intelligent and formal posts accompany this type of thread.

In almost all threads you do, we have to come up with statistics, because of your different opinion. When it comes that the general population is this way, you come and point out that there are different people. For e.g. here, you say some black people don't really care about the N-word. It's obvious that such people exist. I don't even know what the f*** is the point of this thread.
