it's not to play as a job, but as a very serious hobby with some possible money thrown in, video games are a sport, pro Starcraft players play 13+ Hours a day.

There were some players from my WoW guild who used to do Uberman sleep schudeling... Along with massive Redbull consumption. (we were sponsed by Revoltados E.Sports)

But i still had my daily 8 hours sleep, i was in school, i exercised, and i have a healthy social life.

They dont. The only feedback i could hear from them was: "Sh*t, my backs hurt like hell..." or "jesus my head is about to explode" or "F**KING CAMPERS SON OF A * I WOULD KILL THEM IRL" (If you know what i mean by this)

I say just let him do it. It's interesting to see what this type of stuff does to people :3

I think he'll do it, but probably whine/bitch/complain about it along the way[no offense, hun xP]

Seriously, it's his decision to do this, not yours, so you can debate and try to change his mind all you want, but it probably won't work.

And if he wants to spend 8 hours on Street Fighter, then let him. Honestly, does it really affect your life in any way? I don't think so, and if it does, then I think you have a major issue.

I spend hours on end playing video games, so I see no problem in that. I know some of you might say that it's a biased opinion since I do the same thing he's going to, but really, we don't give a crap. It's our lives, and what we do with it shouldn't affect you.

I don't think anyone here is trying to convince him not to do this because it affects them. They're doing it because they actually give a f*ck about him, and don't want him to end up in a really bad condition.

Thats the thing, I"m going to be fine. I might pass out after the first week and have to start all over again though.

I'm pretty sure he'll be fine. He knows the risks at stake and probably knows what he's doing. I'm pretty sure he's not that stupid xD
