I thought everyone's canines were pointy unless chipped or worn down with age. In biology the canine incisors are described as canines specifically because they are sharp for tearing rather than chewing. But this has me wondering if there are gradients of sharpness that are genetic.

I agree. I thought all canines were supposed to be sharp as well, otherwise they could just be called incisors. Perhaps it varies, but I don't see any evolutionary reason why any set of people would develop sharper or duller canines these days. It's not as though survival or reproduction would depend on it at all.
I don't know. I guess I'll just try Googling it harder. "Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?"

Lol, my husband likes it too He calls them my vampire fangs. I've never been fond of them but I'm starting not to care anymore. The main reason I don't like them much is that tt sure hurts though when you bite your cheek with pointy canines, lol.
