Because you've tried to 'convert' people to your view. All you needed to do was state "No. I don't like phones" & if somebody asked why, a polite reasoning would have done. I believe this is currently my favorite thread.
Use my phone for everything. Maps, email, text, calls, word documents, music, and as a tune / met. I have been known to pay bills when in a pinch. I even use it ad a modem for my laptop when I am in the middle of nowhere. I do not worry about the security though forreal may.

I could say it may not be 100% necessary but i know it is 100% useful.

seems jolly amazing and useful to me. One thing that bothers me-- How easy would it be for a phone thief to take your treasure and use it against you?

I just can't fathom how these items work. Its astonishing me.

Tbh, It's not much different from them stealing your handbag or computer. Most thieves wouldn't bother with phones, although phone crime is becoming more popular. If someone were to steal my phone, all they'd get is a lot of music & lots of pictures from the internet, some of them being questionable for the thief. Some people however use their phones for banking, so details my be present. Also, a policeman gave my college a talk about catching pedophiles & drug dealers. A part of which was that they had a device, that if something was deleted, they could bring it up again. I see no reason why top criminals can't have a similar device. But, overall, its fairly safe. It really depends what you use your phone for
