Hello! -

Hello,
My girlfriend and I are recently off-the-plane foreigners living in a wonderful rural area near Gifu in Japan. We've been here for eleven days and both work in the same school as Teachers (by surprise there). So far we've had an interesting experience ordering food, singing karaoke 'till the early morning and otherwise trotting around in temperatures that for the better part of me (Being from Quebec, Canada) are a little overwhelming. That being said, we've seen some interesting sights (Flew into Tokyo and spent a night in the Park Prince Hotel ((Highly recommended if you can fit the slightly heavy bill)) and seen the Tokyo Tower. Both of us hold University degrees and are interested in learning as much as we can about our surroundings and the Japanese people/culture/so-on-so-forth. Well that about sums it up - Pleasure to be part of this world. |

Coming to you from: midwest america Intentions and whatnot: I'd like to learn more from this group about what to expect when I travel to Tokyo next month. Why do you want to go to Japan: I love to travel and Japan has always an interesting place to me. This fall it seems to be towards to top of the list of places to visit for my wife and me so we're going to go! I love to be immersed in another culture as I think it's vital for well roundedness. |

Tokyo has many nice places around it. Be sure to see Nikko and Kamakura, they are highlights. I don't believe in pre-empting things too much for people. Yokohama is a must, they have the fastest elevator in the world and it costs 1000Y to go up, about 5 British pounds. The view from all sides at the top is simply stunning. On a day with good visibility, you can see Mount Fuji away in the distance. You can take a cable car which will show you things which will impress you.

This is Kayako Comming from Cali to you Born in 1992 Seem that people here are mostly here for the anime. But I do confess I do like it, but that isn't the reason why I wanted to join. Do I exactly have to tell you why I joined? Maybe I joined for the heck of it. But anyways Im not going to say my personallity here, because I would actaully like it if you were to ask politely. Like a Lady or a Gentleman. I think I may know people here dont usually talk to new people, because they think they do not know any better. I should stop. Anyways Pleasure to meet anyone here. |
