Hi everyone !

Name: Marine
Coming to you from: France
First Breath: May 24th 1992
My intentions: Intending high school in England (London) and living in Japan or Korea. I'm a globetrotter I love travelling !
I want to be a teach in one of these country. Not only because it's an easily reachable job, but because I love languages (I'm able to speak 5 languages)
Why do you want to go to Japan: I've already been in Japan.
First, let's clear up things, I don't like manga or anime !
(I used to watch anime when I was 11, but I don't like Japan for Hello Kitty)
And yet, I like drawing anime girls (don't ask me why, I'm just weird )
I love Japan for its beautiful cities and landscapes !
I love japanese food, cooking japanese food, and so on !

intentions and whatnot: I'm trying to learn Japanese all by my lonesome, and I figured if I need some pointers I can come here and there's enough fellow geeks to get my back.
why do you want to go to japan: It's just something I've always wanted to do. When I was like 5 Seaseme Street had a special called "Big Bird Goes to Japan", and ever since I've decided I'm going. It won't be anytime soon, but in the meantime I plan on learning as much as I can.

I choose the twilight path to the dawn.

Smile Introduction - 01-17-2010, 06:23 PM

Hi there! I'm Andy and I love Japan! I went on a trip to Japan this past August and loved it so much that I decided to go back. I'm hoping to go back to Japan to teach English in about a year and a half. Since then, I've been using Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese. It's much harder than I thought it would be!

I graduated from Washington State University in 2007 with a degree in elementary education. While doing my student teaching, I realized that teaching children wasn't something I was ready to devote myself to, so after I graduated, I got a job working at a winery. It turns out they wanted people with Elementary Education degrees!

If you would like to get to know me better, please feel free to reply to this post!

Heya and ようこそ
Can I just say, you like the Rosetta stone I have never heard of anyone rating it for Japanese. Have a look around and see what other people use if you are finding that too difficult, there is lots of choice out there.
Where abouts in Japan did you visit?
I also want to go and teach in Japan, waiting to hear back from the JET Programme right now! Unlike you I am loving the teaching modules I am studying in my Undergrad degree and my time spent volunteering in elementary (and now upper) schools

I actually like Rosetta Stone a lot. It's way better than me trying to learn it from a book!

I was in Osaka for most of the time, but I spent a little time in Kyoto too.

How is JET? They were the ones I was thinking of getting involved with. I've heard they pay the best and treat you the best.

Haha, teaching just wasn't something I was prepared to do three years ago. I guess I hadn't grown up enough yet. How are you enjoying your teaching experience?

Hello from a JP newbie - 01-20-2010, 04:22 PM

Hi guys,
I am new here in JF. Just want to say Konnichiwa and Dozo yoroshiku!! I have browsed around for a bit and found quite a lot of friendly helpful people here which prompted me to join.

I have just returned from Japan last Sunday. It was my third visit to the land of the rising sun now, but I still enjoyed every moment of it as if it was my first time.

I went to Tokyo for 3 weeks in August 2008, 3 more weeks in Kobe in July 2009 and 2 and half weeks in Osaka this time. Had an amazing time, loved the Japanese food and can not wait to get back. As a matter of fact, I will be heading back to Japan in April if all goes well for 1 year to study Japanese at a Language school full time, so that is something to look forward to

Hope you all are having a wonderful 2010!
