First breath: I'm legal ladies, I'm legal.

Intentions and whatnot: I had originally planned on joining this site to seek advice before my move to Tokyo next month, but slaying weaboos has been more fun.

Why do you want to go to Japan?: Everything I've learned about Japan has been a crash course in the last year. I have no desire for anime/manga and that kind of crap, and I'm not going to act like I have a deep passion for the culture. I only chose to go to Japan for networking purposes, and it pretty much came down to what I knew more about between China and Japan. Japan won a decisive victory with "sushi" and "karate."

Other: I actually feel kind of bad (not really) because 99% of you guys love Japanese stuff but will never even come to Japan, yet I'm here for the hell of it.

I'm not a cynic; I just like to play Devil's Advocate once in a while.

Hm.... I don't wanna hurt anybody, but ....for Japan and for Japanese people, this thing is really good. I mean that part ---> "but will never even come to Japan"

Some of the Nipponophils are... scary

Name: Just call me Arstan.

First breath: Summer of '88.

Coming to you from: Canada

Intentions: Not a lot else besides finding one or two folks living over there in the Land of the Rising Sun as friends, and to swap knowledge of things. Bonus points for living in or around Kawasaki.

Why do you want to go to Japan?: I have minimal interest in anime, manga, pop music and so forth. However, I recently started learning Sugino-style Katori Shinto Ryu - it has become something I want to learn to the fullest. I also like Japanese gardens, and am interested in the sights to be seen too in Japan.

Coming to you from: Philippines
First Breath: Sept 27
Intentions and whatnot: I like to talk about Japan.
Why do you want to go to Japan: I want to live and work in Japan. I am kooking for every opportunity. I think that it is where I found my peace. It calms me and I cannot find a place like it. Its just that even if I am not a true blooded Japanese I was meant to be there. It just pulls me right into its bosom.

Name: Joost

Coming to you from: The Netherlands

First Breath: June 10, 1970

Intentions and whatnot: On a fine day many many years ago I read a comic about Yoko Tsuno, a famous Japanese comic character here in The Netherlands and Belgium (and possibly other countries). Immediately fell in love with her :-) Besides that, every time I encountered some kind of technical manual with multiple languages, I couldn't help but stare amazed at all those tiny but fascinating Japanese characters. How long would it take to master them? But Japan (or at least, Tokyo) came into my heart and became nr. 1 on my list of places I want to go is the song 'Tokyo' by 10CC. Immediately followed by the beautiful movie "Departures".

Why do you want to go to Japan: Japan is about electronics and I have a background in electronics. Japan is about computers and I work in the IT industry. Japan is all about crowded places and sometimes I am in the mood for that. Japan is mostly about silence and precious beauty and I love them both. I think I have fallen in love with Japan without ever having seen it in real life. But that is about to change...
