You may need to worry more about your reading skills since you seem to have missed spicytuna's response.

Those of us who know people in Japan that are "native English speakers working non-teaching jobs in Japan" have goen there with solid business credentials gains over many years. Their business skills outweigh their employers' concerns over language barriers.

I do - but they are fluent in Japanese.
Without fluency, and without being in Japan with some foreign corporation that sent them over... None.

JLPT 2 is good for getting into some universities - but otherwise, I don`t think it`s worth much else. Perhaps a practice run for 1? That`s pretty much what it was for me. I took 2 because I didn`t think I`d be able to pass 1. Passed 2 with flying colors so took 1 the next testing period after getting the results.
In terms of employment, 2 won`t really help you. It is nowhere near the level of proficiency you`d need to read and parse work related documents. If I recall correctly, it was compared to 4th grade proficiency. Sure, you can talk, but tons will be going over your head. 1 is closer to 8th grade proficiency with handfuls of higher level stuff tossed in.

The only time I have heard of 2 being mentioned in an employment capacity has been jobs outside of Japan ready to settle for anyone they can get who is local.

Nyororin will tell you it isn't that simple, and it is a long and drawn out process.
Unfortunately... I`m probably the worst person to talk about marriage to visa being not so simple.
I assume that is what you were referring to?

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.
