It is nowhere near the level of proficiency you`d need to read and parse work related documents. If I recall correctly, it was compared to 4th grade proficiency. Sure, you can talk, but tons will be going over your head. 1 is closer to 8th grade proficiency with handfuls of higher level stuff tossed in. The only time I have heard of 2 being mentioned in an employment capacity has been jobs outside of Japan ready to settle for anyone they can get who is local. Quote:
