I was more along the lines of saying that men in general will act as they are trained to act.
The prostitute aspect I hold by because all cultures have them, they just have different ways of "showing" how they are available. |

"This activity does not work for me." However, it works for Japanese girls who are a part of the Japanese culture. This cultural clique is not asking for your approval. Your disapproval is duly noted, but you are not the "target audience" so to speak. Quote:
The OP. Me. This is what we are talking about. Girls walking around Japan in mini-mini-skirts. This is still Japan Forum. |

Yes, there are men who act poorly in society. There are men that rape. There are men that abuse. By definition of the action and the society's reaction, they are the extreme minority in society, so I do not appreciate men from any one country being defined as one thing or another without any evidence to support it. To single out American men as "pigs" meaning they rape and sexual harass women more than men from other countries is nothing short of uneducated. Even American "women" who have never traveled more than 50 miles from their birthplace, much less another country love to give very educated opinions about how American men are in the world. Again, this thread is about Japanese girls, not American men. Pardon my defensiveness, but please...attacks illicit defense. |

You don't need to point out the obvious by telling me that they don't need to have my approval. I know that. We was arguing about the cultural aspect. Like I said, to their culture, it might be fine. Which is fair enough. But just because their culture says it's right, doesn't mean it is. Cannibalism is a part of a culture. What about that? Is that alright too? Quote:

To clear something up: I originally meant for this to be an international discussion. I used Japan as an example because the girls I saw happened to be Japanese, but my friend is American with West Indian heritage that has most likely influenced her way of thinking. I think it's fine to use Japan as an example, but I never meant for it to be the only thing discussed...
