Nyu has never been to Japan but hopes to live in Kyoto when she grows up. Nyu takes Japanese in High school and we did Harajuku the Friday before Halloween.

If the OP is in Okinawa, I hear there's an amazing aquarium there which might be worth checking out. Failing that head to the beach and get some snorkel gear and go see the reefs, do some water sports. Aren't there some famous whirlpools/ temples down there too? I can't remember. There's also the wild cat nature reserve. Plenty to see anyway.
