yea its not too bad if its sticky rice, the key is not to "squeeze" the blob of rice too much, otherwise it will come apart.

also some people eat steak with chopsticks, it will simply be cut up by the "chef" to chopstick/bitesize pieces.

there is infact a whole school of japanese cuisine based loosely on western foods, and has a rather funny story to how it came to be. (by government decree!)

Though certainly not pizza or burgers, I actually find eating any kind of pasta easy with chopsticks - sometimes even easier. Think about it, noodles are said to have originated in China, not Italy.

After being served side salads at times in Japanese restaurants I discovered that they are excellent for salad, rather than the overly dull tines of most salad forks these days. Since I almost always carry a pair in my purse, I will used them for any salad now.

It just takes practice.
