I am wondering where you got the idea that pollution causes earthquakes? Shifts in tectonic plates along fault lines cause earthquakes, pollution has zero to do with it. As above, the planet has been suffering from earthquakes since well before humans evolved- did you think there were no earthquakes before humans started creating pollution, i.e. before about 200 years ago? Of course there were. If you are wondering about the causes of earthquakes, I recommend reading the Wikipedia page on that topic.
