Nothing is a waste of time if you enjoy it.

You can't have a good game without paying some money for it. And 8 pounds per month is nothing to what the game gives you. Console games end. MMO's don't.

Whats different than playing an MMO, or playing a console game?

I play WoW, stopped tioll after my GCSE's

And another thing I don't agree with. That MMO's are addicting. It doesn't have no nicotine in it. Anyone can easily just leave it, in a second, only if they have the will for it. The brains addicted TO it. IT isn't addicting.

I've played a load of them, the one I still like the most is Everquest. Played and disliked Matrix, FF XI and Star Wars. Everquest II and WoW aren't bad, but especially WoW gets boring swiftly. (imo, naturally)

I never did get the same feeling playing an MMO like when I played Everquest, after losing my main character (only Sony can do that I suppose), I just moved on but I at times still miss that game.

I played EQ up till EQ2 went live and I tried the beta of Vanguard (It ran like crap so I never was able to get into the game) I played more EQ when I was working shifts since it was the only social life available in the middle of the day.

your statement contradicted itself if the brain is addicted then its addicting
and actually they can be considered addicting because those who seem addicted show all the same signs of addiction and have a similar chemical reaction going on in the brain although its different then drugs because its harder for some to get addicted than others because of personality and life style but when you have people playing to the point where they make themselves sick you cant deny there is some kind of addiction problem going on
and the problem with having the will to leave it is that people do belive they have the will to leave and therefore dont think they have a problem just like any drug addict

btw most of the things i said in there i learned in my psych class when we were talking about chemicals in the brain and how certain chemicals cause an overload of the pleasure centers ...or something along those lines and then the person having that happen to them wants that same feeling again so they continue to act out the behavior that causes the stimulation in the brain

Once I finally get a job which hopefully will be soon I will be going back to Final Fantasy 11. Which means that I will forget to sleep and eat again.
