Arrow Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? - 10-06-2010, 07:11 PM

Just post about the places you've been and talk about places you plan to go. There's a whole world out there, why not explore it?

Feel free to further discuss:
- Experiences
- Insights (but, once again, respect other people and try not to be too opinionated)
- Funny Stories
- Journals/Written Stuff
- Blogs/Cool Tech Stuff
- Pictures

1. Start by posting the places you've been to and ones you plan on going
2. Comment and reply to start a discussion!
3. Add some cool pics/media for visual coolness

Rules:
1. Pics are welcome (max 3 per day)
2. Tons of links are not (one or two blog links are excepted)
3. Keep it PG
4. Respect others and their posts
5. You have an argument, take it to PMs
6. Only post about travel, not how much you love this person, and stuff
7. You can be as short or long as you want, but keep it relatively grammatically correct
8. Have fun!

-inspired by Joyce Carol Oates' short story of the same name; however, this is more light-hearted. It's simple really! Hope we get to hear about some funky places!

I live in Scotland, so don't need to travel far for some beautiful scenery. Within the country, I've been to the tourist spot that is Aviemore. It was beautiful, on the edge of the Craingorm mountains. I've also been to Paradise (the nickname for Celtic Park). The weather was rubbish, but even so, it was an amazing. I'll never forget the huge picture in the stadium of Shunsuke Nakamura celebrating at Old Trafford. I've been to North France/Belguim (WW1 battlefields & cemetery's for fallen solders) & South Germany (local towns & cities, as well as a medieval fair with the host family) with the school. Both trips were amazing, & I fully enjoyed both. The weather was amazing, although perhaps a bit hotter than expected. I'm going to university for a couple of years, next year. After that, I'm planning Japan. Although, I know a lot of hard work lays ahead. I'm also hoping of visiting China, mainly Beijing down to Hangzhou, then to Chengdu, & everything in between. But who know's what the future holds

I live in Canada... and I've been to

Vancouver (My favourite place in Canada perhaps..)
Drove to Florida (so... every state in between, but I was too young to remember all the details)
California (It's awesome there! Good sushi!)
Guangzhou (in China, mainly Cantonese)
Hong Kong (Probably my favourite place in China)
Malaysia (Only Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh)
And... NARITA AIPORT! (That counts as Japan right??)

Have yet to go to Europe... and Japan (not just the airport).

;D! The world is pretty!

You will enjoy it when you visit. A tip though. The people of Glasgow are difficult to understand, because their accent is very strong. No, but being only 19 (20 in 20 days), I feel I've plenty of time. After uni, I'm planning a move to Japan, to stay. It's a gamble, but I feel risks make life more exciting. I'd love to visit other countries to, like areas of the U.S, I like to experience the Daytona 500 or Talledega NASCAR races, & a few IndyCar races. Plus, the Bathurst 500 in Australia (I'm a huge fan of Motor Racing). I see India on your list, & while India doesn't really interest me, I'd love to see the Taj Mahal. It looks an absolutely, outstanding beautiful building.

Yeah, I've heard about the infamous Scottish accent :P But if I'm gonna travel the world, better get used to not understanding anybody! lol. ^_^ I like car races only as much as I like watching tennis, it fascinates me, and everything's moving so fast o.o I just stare at it in awe. But I've never been to one in person. I'd much rather drive like I'm in one, lol. Yeah, the Taj Mahal, that's one place I want to go too. I like India for it's food and Hinduism, but I'm worried about getting mugged or something there (as in almost every place I visit), plus "Slumdog Millionaire" kinda freaks me out (but not enough to keep me from going there and experiencing it myself).

Canada to Florida? That's a long trip! @_@ I haven't been to Florida yet, and I'm closer! I know, I LOVE Cali, but it's too hot for me to stay there now >_< How was China? Did you visit with friends and/or family? Oh! I have a friend from Malaysia, how'd you end up there?? Lol, and only the airport in Japan, that's funny (so close yet so far, neh?)
