I don't think there was ever a massive influx of japanese to america like blacks, mexicans, chinese, and vietnamese. In fact I'm fairly sure the japanese population in america is VERY low percentage wise.

Actually, there was a large influx of Japanese to America in the early 20th century. Almost all of the immigrants were farmers looking for abetter life. Of all the classes of Japanese at the time, farmers were the worst off. America became so concerned by the large numbers of Japanese immigrants that America and Japan entered into the infamous "Gentlemen's Agreement" to restrict the numbers of immigrants from Japan.
