A couple from when the hospital pushed the bones back in, but before they could schedule the full operation: One from my 3month checkup after the operation: I think they are pretty self-explanatory, there are 2 bones in an arm and they are both clearly snapped in half, the mechano looking bits are the plates and pins. |

The worst are the compound fractures on a joint, like what happened to my right elbow. Even after a year of physio, I lost around 45 degrees in my range of motion. I also hear an audible click each time I twist my arm as the scar tissue snaps against the stainless steel plates. Because my bone was crushed into around 20 pieces, it never fused together so I had to undergo a bone graft 8 months later. Thankfully, my bone has healed so I'll be able to climb this summer. |

What does a bone graft entail, sounds cringeworthy. Makes you even the more brave for getting back out there, mine is nothing compared to yours, and I shy away from any physical activity like that for fear of it happening again because I know I would not cope. |

In my case, they used something called a BMP (Bone Morphogenetic Protein) to kickstart bone growth. It comes in a bottle and apparently costs around $5,000 per ounce. I've got some x-rays which I'll upload later. |

As for the safety once the appendix has burst, that is not something to risk. If it bursts before it is removed from the body, the contaminants that caused the rupture (toxins, germs, etc) are now moving freely throughout the body. This is a serious issue and used to be a major cause of death before appendectomies were possible. This is why once there is a diagnosis of a problem with the appendix, removal is usually done immediately. One of my best friends from elementary school has the same issue. Her jaw just suddenly stopped growing.. However, she was told that she couldn't have surgery until she was fully grown. [ ♥<-- Jordan's heart! \(Ò_ó)/ ]
