Decisions - 01-05-2011, 10:36 PM

In life sometimes we have to make life changing decisions.

Take one path or another?

We all do this. Are you pleased with the important decisions that you have made in your life. Maybe you regret some of them.

When one considers how we often Do have to make a really life changing choice--- Have we taken the right path?

I have taken many paths through life--

Not always the best one.

The best one was accepting my husbands marriage proposal over 44 years ago.

He changed my life and gave me real reasons to carry on no longer be lonesome. He gave me a family. so I thank heaven I accepted his proposal.

I wished to work with animals-- I have done that and Yes was very satisfied I did that too.

Along the way I have made many mistakes.

If I had the chance to start again-- what would I do? Now I am not as sure as I used to be.

I wish to study and learn as much as I can while I have time.

Buying a second hand computer-- also changed my life. It led me to many discoveries--.

just a few things--not a lot maybe-- but when I accepted the request to edit a post care newsletter for the children's society-- that opened my eyes to so much that I wished to help where I could.

Well, I'm pretty young to have made a whole lot of them. Sure there have been times in my life when I've had to make decisions that have had an effect in my life to some extent, but not too many so far. Choosing my career field was a wise decision, but then again I always knew that's what I wanted to do, so it didn't take much thinking on my part. Taking up English as my 3rd language was also a wise decision I made when I was about 6. I was fascinated by the language back then and kinda forced myself into becoming fluent at it before turning 12, which I did. Up until now, I'd say I'm pretty happy with the decisions I've made, but the important ones that are supposed to really make a difference are yet to come.

Two pairs of decisions in my past had amazing impact on my life.

Deciding to marry the 1st husband was one of the stupidest things I have ever done; the 2nd was waiting 6 months to divorce him instead of 6 days! At least I learned an amazing amount about other people and myself very quickly, and it has served me very well over the years. Now I refer to it as my temporary fit of insanity.

The second pair was agreeing to move in with the man who was to be my 2nd husband. We had a really good 15 years. When we decided to divorce it was the right time and a good decision for both of us in the long run.

Things might have been better had I chosen otherwise in 3 out of 4 of those decisions. My gut tells me all but the 1st one was the right move, but even that provided some very good lessons as quickly as possible.

Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life.

Only being 20, I'd say I'm at the begining of a life of making decisions. Already, however, I've mad a few huge decisions, both commercial purchasing decisions, and ones which will change my life, hopefully for the better. But first, I've to go to university before I can put my plans into fruition. (I believe thats the right word. lol)

Suki: Whoa, Really? So what is your first language?

All this time I thought you were native!

Thanks, I get that a lot. Actually I'm having this conversation in another thread, there ya go >> How did you start learning ENGLISH?

My first language's Catalan, followed closely by Spanish since Catalonia is a bilingual country where everyone speaks both on a native level. Well, it isn't really a country as such, but I'm gonna allow myself to call it one for reasons I'll spear you.
