I don`t think I`ve ever had any nicknames related to my actual name. Part of this is my name being short enough that it`s about as easy to say as any nickname... And part being that I just do not like nicknames all that much.
The closest I can come up with in the line of nicknames would be what my husband calls me. He calls me おく and I call him だんな. If you know Japanese you will get the amusement value of this.

my name's Aubrey but i get Nick or Nickelodeon a lot from my grandpa. i guess it's cause either my middle name's Nicole or i'm always watching something on Nickelodeon. i also used to get Ewok from one of my friends cause there was this little girl in one of the Star Wars spin-off movies who had my name with a different spelling that had a pet Ewok. sometimes i'll get Aub from some of my other friends, which is just a shortened version of my name.

Back in Aus in my group of friends there were two of us with the same name. I am a Brendon and the other was a Brendan. So to distinguish between us I became know as just Don or The Don. It's the same here in Japan, there are 3 of us in town with the same name, so referring to me as Don helps distinguish between us.

Well, I haven't really had a nickname since I was in ES and HS.
In grade 7-9 I had loads of nicknames based on my last name, which is a very unusual one. Some were alright, others were... not very nice (yes, I was "that fat kid" back then). xD In HS people called me "Bosse." It's got absolutely nothing to do with my real name (Robin), and I can't quite remember when or how I got that nickname. In Sweden, "Bosse" is usually what you call people with the name Bo. It was completely random, and I still don't get it 5 years later! ... To be honest I don't think the one who gave me the nickname gets it either, so it's all good haha. i was given the nickname tohru chan from my friends
 then at home no one gets my name right im always called robin, monica, and one time klohe!!!! .  My real name isnt even close to any of these... niether the nickname that they call me sometimes; and its super simple its Car.
