I really hate msn 11... no more display name, nor more blocking other people feature and it takes up a lot of resources. your thoughts about this software? I want a good replacement chat software that allows me to on msn and add contacts successfully.

you are kidding right?..i freaking love msn 11..i agree the privacy options are not that great..but you can appear offline to individual contacts..and if you deleted someone..and they keep adding you..then you have the option to block them..like this

Ah, I totally adore that feature too XD Everyone I know whines about it - but you can turn off the ads, minimise the screen, and still block people (the three main things people seem to hate most).

To me being able to appear offline to set individuals is heaven, and I've wanted that feature for so long. Before if I wanted to avoid a certain person I had to 'appear offline' as a whole, and then no one knew I was on and no one IMed me - whereas now it's like freedom to talk to whoever without worrying if a certain person or group of people will see me or not

I admit I can't find a way to get up a screen-name, which annoys me as I used to set my name to just 'Robin' and now my full name comes up, but other than that I haven't found many faults at all.

that takes you to the website..and you can edit your name

Thanks, that was quite useful actually

although it still demands I add a forename and a surname, and it shows up these two names when I talk to people too

It won't let me just use one name or a nickame . . .

try splitting one name in half xDDD..that might wrk...but it looks weird lol

My msn loads up a bit slowly? Especially when you're starting up your computer? Does yours do that as well?

that depends on your computer..my pc is quite powerful xD...but just a quick question..what is youor OS,amount of RAM,how many applications are running in the background?..
