MMM; I understand where your comeing from and generally agree with you. Still, I doubt the Americans would appreciate a British "allied" base sitting in Texas.

Allied military does "exchanges" all the time. If Britain wanted to put a base in Texas, I think that would be great! It would show their willingness to spread their power out across the world to protect against potential enemies. Now The only thing close to Texas is Mexico and Central America... not exactly a threat to the UK. But, again, it's about helping allies. I am totally for it.

Hasn't China just increased it's defence budget by a considerable ammount? Putting Billions into it.

How does that make Japanese nationals feel?

I've also heard that North and South Korea aren't on the best of terms at the moment too.
