Very true, but remember that societies are evolving and that is because of both individual and group effort. This is what I cant understand working with Japanese that they cannot take a constructive criticism. Without it there is no improvement. It's like with sex, you argue and it gets better. If you agree with everything and float neurotically like shit in the ice crack you are not only not supporting the society, but you become a liability. And that's not "philisophical shit", that's life, mate.

yeah thats true.. conflict brings about change. and i dont know, i guess one can hope it is for the better.
thats a good point about lying and or being polite. i hate lying, sometimes i wish people would not ask me for my opinion about things, i hate it when someone puts you in an awkward position to say things that you are not really interested about or you havent got a lot of good thigns to say lol. and at the end of the line, its also about saying things in an acceptable way to people i guess. not saying no, directly, but saying it will be better to do this blah blah... it works for most people i guess. |

(not that anyone is gonna ask you if their bum looks big in a work environment LOL)
Interesting statement, why not? That also supports what you have said later on. You prefer it to be delivered wrapped in a safe box (the reply, not the bum...). On the other hand asking me if your bum looks big in "this" you are searching for confirmation of your own opinion about yourself or are trying to seek fake compliment to pretend you can still safely feed on cakes. You know your bum the best and can see if it needs gym or not. If it does I will most likely tell you. If you think thats rude it will not necessarily mean we wont get along. I know people coming to me after years and saying, wow the real you is well hidden. Being polite =/= having to lie to save face. People will respect you more for the truth put in a polite way. Among friends it's different but at work it's what's expected in most cases. I do not need respect from people that cannot handle the truth. But I know where you are going with the thought that saying one thing in more gentle way does not hurt. But remember, the small talk is a watse of time and if there is no spice in a convo my brain suffocates. |

"Does this make my butt look fat?"
I can niether confirm nor deny that said item makes your postieriour look overly large, nor can I confirm nor deny that replaceing such item would change the outcome of the this particular question on any given date. Unless the party asking said question, related to the article in question, were in a safe and undisclosed location. |

It seems to be assumed by a lot of people that conventional
Education does and should work for everyone. I think this is a standard in society that should be broadened in peoples minds. Not everyone learns the same and I do believe that should be researched a lot more. Oooooor maybe my opinion is just stupid and naïve. |

one needs to stand up for justice -- men having to work 18 hours a day in this time and age means they are being exploited. maggie thatcher killed a lot of our unions. why should workers allow themse;ves to be expploited. moRe fool them say I. THEY HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHts not be too scared to protest. they might just as well be robots they seem to be programmed. we should not buy goods where workers are exploited. |
