I'm English, with some distant Scottish. I might have some Irish too, but without contacting my biological parent I don't know for certain.
I'm actually surprised how many various cultures and nationalities are on the site, it's rather interesting to think how many people are here and how much there is to be learnt from one another |

It's a pity that we have not a significant amount of native Japanese in English-speaking unit of this Forum. |

mothers side from london----father unknown.
not sure if i have inherited from gene pool-- my likes dislikes etc. moulded by childhood experiences and non family experiences. i often wonder if my tastes are naturally via my genes-- characteristics etc. the older generation here seem keen to trace their own family history-- but there is not a lot of real info regarding type of work ancestors did. later theres should be so much more info available than in the past which is why recording ones own life history will be great for future generations-- photos and diairies being really useful |

My grandfather used to say we were Dutch-Irish - must have been his preference because later research proved this completely false.
My family goes back to the 1100's on the Isle of Mann and one of the temporary Scottish rulers. (Scotland & Ireland had a bad habit of invading the place back then.) There is also a bit of English, Welsh and strong lines of Cherokee. The only big surprises to the family tree were the discovery of some French and African, sometime in the 1800's. Each member of the family claims their own favorites from this list, though. Most claim the Scot and Texan. My game room has a Manx flag, a Ferguson tartan, the emblem of the Cherokee Nation and the Texan Lone Star. Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life. ********************* Find your voice; silence will not protect you.
