Your Heritage - 02-28-2011, 11:48 PM

So, what is your heritage or different heritages?

I'm caucasian British through and through. Well technically I'm Welsh, but Wales is part of Britain, so meh XD As far as I can trace back there's been no immigration in my family.

Interesting... If someone says they're British I just assume that they're either English or have a strictly civic national identity that has nothing to do with heritage.

Oh.. an in answer to your question. I'm a mix of various European countries. Mostly Wales and England.. but there's some Swiss French and Scandinavian in there so I'm told.

I also have some Samoan in me.

But my heritage and my national identity are completely different to me. Publicly I identify strictly with New Zealand for my national identity and my heritage is more of a private thing (similar to how many people practice religion).

I'm 50/50 German and Serbian. But I don't really feel like neither...

Absolutely no idea. I was adopted at the age of 10 days old and have never had any interest whatsoever to find out anything about my biological parents!

A Welsh guy saying they're British is like an English person saying they're European;it might be true but it's still naff!

I am Welsh up until my dad came into the family. I'm half.

I'm Dutch,
I don't look that Dutch tho , i think it was the mother of my grandfather that came from Romania and was a gypsy.
The other side of the family has its roots in Germany.
I have a darker tan than most dutch people over here and dark hair with light blue eyes...it's a weird combination

Hmm,sometimes I wish I was more exotic. Nothing I can do! They should make an operation that like lets you temporarily transform into different ethnicities. I'm glad I'm half-Welsh though. Someone on another site raised a good point that we tend to focus overly on our differences and we only really have superficial differences.
