nuclear power is cleanest and safest there is in comparison. 1kg uranium produces as much power as 1500 tons of coal.
just because we are witnessing only 2nd a bit more serious fuck up doesn't mean we should abandon it.

But nuclear power is so much dangerous. Its so difficult to control this. Ok it its clear but its to unhealthy!!! We want natural power, because these arent dangerous. Ok it isn't bring to much as nuclear power, but we are ready to pay this price.

One example, I use LED lighting outside, in my garden, and on the hallway of my house, powered by a merely 20W, 12 V solar panel paired with a 12A sealed lead acid battery. That way, I cut down on 3 light bulbs of 17W each. This had cost me about 80 dollars, and in 2 years and a half I already recovered that money from the cut-off on my electricity bill. Plus, the Electricity company had to produce with ~ 130kW/year less, only from me (7 hours daily *3 light bulbs of 17W, all year round - I work at home, so clients can come at any hour until 11 pm :P ).

The whole planet could be converted into a giant solar cell and it wouldn't fuel the needs of even the US, let alone everyone else. That's the problem.."green energy" doesn't produce enough ENERGY. It can supplement normal energy such as coal or oil or nuclear but you will never replace them with that low output.

well, people who live are a cost factor for health system, social system, regress .. each living person will cost a few million dollars in future ... thats the fact .. so, every dead person doesnt cost ... therefore you can think by yourself which intention people really have ... noone knows at moment in which area you can live in future and in which area you can never live again for example ....

my idea to mass evacuate and bring the people to the south in guest families was much more better, because there would be no problem with water, eat, medical, heat and the biggest point of pschologic disaster ... and in 10 days it would have been possible to evacuate 15-20 million people with international help ... but nobody did this ...

on each reactor i would have had another international team with another way of problem solving ... in meantime one way will work and the others can use this experiences ... on tv i see only helpless and confused ways which cost more an more live of firemen ... senseless ...

i donnot really understand what there is going on ... we here in germany have more fear about radiation than the japanese ... maybe we have more experiences with chernobyl but over this, we are more critically and better informed ... japanese people are too much friendly and kind ... hope they wake up ... inform yourself to the facts and your situation ...

i hope the people will overcome this horrible cruel catastrophy ... but what i see on tv is very sad of course ... there is no good plan ..
