it is at the moment a question where the wind goes and if it rains or not ... thats important ... the radioctivity is not killing and not making cancer a man today says in tv, if you stay inside your home ... and you should try to contact a deciding person in your area ..

An interesting theme coming out of this whole affair is the almost complete lack of trust so many Japanese citizens have in their government. I've seen it before time and again over less drastic issues but it is really showing itself clearly in this disaster.
I understand why bluejeanslady is so strong in her views as it seems that it wouldn't surprise any Japanese citizen if after this situation is all cleaned up and the rebuilding is done, thousands of strange cancer cases start hitting the hospitals because the government withheld vital radiation information to the general public.
Could this be the trigger for some kind of major shakeup of the way authority figures conduct themselves in Japan?
