Do you realize this is the same person who ordered the bombing of Pam Am flight 103 that killed 270 innocent, non-combatants over Lockerbee, Scotland in 1988? His own hand-picked Minister of Justice confirmed that accusation two months ago.

This man has been an international terrorist for decades, but because he hid behind his own borders after 1988 he has been mostly left alone until now when his own people seem to have reached their breaking point.

"The world" is not a single person. All countries are in a catch 22 with their actions because there will always be more than one perspective on a particular issue.

I call bullsh*t. But whatever.. it's not what you said.

Our GDP is 15trillion and our debt is about 15 trillion. Basically it would be like if you made 20,000 a year and were paying on a 20,000 debt..wich is what most home owners do every year.
Um.. GDP is irrelevant because the US GOVERNMENT owns the national debt not the country. What's more important than GDP is actual money that the US government has (or can make available) to spend (i.e. the budget).

GDP would only be relevant if the government taxed EVERYTHING 100%.

Vietnam remembers the US and the devestation it unleashed, most people in the US barely remember Vietnam, at best it's just a backdrop for a Rambo movie.
USA still lost. Vietnam still won. No matter how you try to revise history.. this point will always remain.

I understand that Tax bit Ronin. However, GDP is one of the basics for how large a debt load a government can take. GDP is production, not money made persay, but what was produced.

AS to how much of the worlds resources the US has acess to, it's more than you think. Alaska alone would be the worlds 8th largest producer of oil if they just let them go for it. We certainly provide much of the worlds food, wich we aren't supplying as much any more, since half of our corn production is going to ethenol.

I think that's stupid there, useing food to make fuel...they should be useing sawgrass, it produces 10 times as much as corn and can be harvested three times a year on a good year. Plus you can utilize land banked acres that no one grows anything on, because grass can tolerate more diverse soil conditions than corn.

The US didn't loose a "war" in vietinam they "disengaged from a futile Kinitic military action"..

Serbiangirl; Lybia is possibly being used as a "test" case for this new idea of "protecting innocent civilians" ploy they are implementing. That way they can formally use force in several countries on the pretext of "protecting innocent civilians". Plus they want to increase oil flow to Europe, while decreasing the North African Refugee flow to Europe. Much of it is politics. Gadaffi is just the poor donkey on the road when the big boys are test fireing their new weapons.

Ok, relatively speaking to Gadaffi, if that sounds better.

I think that Obama withdraw troops from Libya for the upcoming presidential election, because he will nominate himself and wants the largest possible number of votes, what do you think guys?

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. That the US defecit equals it's GDP is VERY bad. GDP is otherwise irrelevant. As I said before.. what is relevant is how much money the US GOVERNMENT has (or can make available since we know it will be borrowing for a long time to come even as it tries to reduce the deficit).

The US has a lot of oil this is true. But I think you're exaggerating the extent to which it is rich in oil and acting as though it is the only thing needed to "colonize Asia and Europe" lol. Not to mention that a war of that magnitude will push consumption through the roof.

No they lost a war. The objectives they set out to accomplish, weren't, while the enemy accomplished theirs.

This is a loss. Accept it lol.

Just how does one withdraw what is not there?

And before you speculate on a foreign country's politics you should first learn their process. Stick to what you know. U.S. Presidential candidate are not self-nominated.

Given that, then why is that the GDP is always the compared data when the press and netizens claim that China is outpacing the rest of the world's economies? We have to use it if we are going to comment on those stories.

Yes, the US lost. We withdrew not only because the American public was fed up with the expense in lives, materials and money, but because Westmoreland and McNamara finally admitted they could not win against a Chinese-backed North Vietnam. If it were not for them, it would not have dragged on so long.

I mean their war planes, we all know the mindset of some politicians , that's my opinion anyway .
So give me an answer , why the U.S. government withdrew its planes from there?
