Look, I realize you think a certain way, and your entitled to that. However, consider this. The US after WW2 had 15 million men in the army and were the world's only superpower, everyone else was decimated. Now, if the US had been an evil empire incarnate..they would have pressured the USSR to obey them or "else". Made Japan and Germany States..Britan prolly too, for posterity. Controled China and turned them into a colony, as well as most of Africa. The South American continant would be part of the US as well as Mexico and Canada.

I know this because historically any nation and or dictator who felt he had the ability to do so ..took over everything possible.

What I'm trying to tell you is this. Sure the US seems large an imposeing, and it is to be sure. But most the time we are a bumbling giant who means well, we just do more damage than we mean too, cause we are too big for certain areas. We aren't the big bad empire, and I know the world is relieved that we aren't. Really, they are, because they know by rights we could have been if we had chosen to do so. We still could, so keeping the US as it is now is really paramount.

USA should occupied all those teritories(while they were strong) so they could be even biger and make more mistakes, since they are a "giant who means well, but do more demages than they mean too..."
it is your country, of course u are going to deffend but i think it's about time for ordinary american citizen to listen to other people what they have to say

The USA enjoys it's status as world hegemon because of it's exercise of soft power (economics, cultural values and political ideology etc.) which is backed up by considerable hard power (guns, bombs, fighter planes etc.).

There is no way the USA could invade and control Europe or Asia let alone both via force because it would compromise it's ability to weild the soft power it needs to maintain even the status quo regarding the political and economic relationships it needs.

Many nations of so-called 3rd world still grateful to Russia and hate the USA. The USSR was making really helpful things for them except communist slogans and propaganda.Soviet engineers and technicians built hydro-electric plants, developed infrastructure and supplied weaponry to fight north-american imperialism. The USA brought nothing short of violence and devastation. That's why Russia mostly has friends around the globe while the USA has mostly servants. Ask people of Vietnam, Cuba, Nicaragua, India, Iran, Venesuela, Syria, Serbia, Libya etc.
