Chernobyl Cleanup Survivor's Message for Japan: 'Run Away as Quickly as Possible' - 03-23-2011, 11:56 PM

Lone Chernobyl first-responders survivor speaks:

Chernobyl Cleanup Survivor's Message for Japan: 'Run Away as Quickly as Possible'

"What message do you have for Japan?
Run away as quickly as possible. Don't wait. Save yourself and don't rely on the government because the government lies. They don't want you to know the truth because the nuclear industry is so powerful."

And yes, don't panic and trust what they tell you. 'They' being the same people that lobbied for continued use of a dangerous reactor in a heavy earthquake region of the world decades after it was deemed dangerous by experts.

I really hope this ends well for Japan.

Nice quotation of survived liquidator given by AOL

I was reading other interviews of Manzurova and other former liquidators of Chernobyl disaster a year ago or so. She called for "immediately runnnig from a possibly contaminated zone of disaster, up to 30 kilometers". Not about "running from prefecture, region, state of country.....

Manzurova's quotes from AOL interview :

"Where did you find the dog and how did he survive?

We moved into a former kindergarten to use as a laboratory and we found her lying in one of the children's cots there. Her legs were all burned from the radiation and she was half blind. Her eyes were all clouded from the radiation. She was slowly dying.

Were you able to rescue her?

No. Right after we moved in, she disappeared. And this is the amazing part. A month later we found her in the children's ward of the (abandoned) hospital. She was dead. She was lying in a child's bed, the same size bed we found her in the kindergarten. Later we found out that she loved children very much and was always around them."

Be wary - 03-28-2011, 01:01 PM

Interesting news find. Just be careful because the incident here is a lot different than Chernobyl. Also, it's not that easy for people just to get up and run. This is our home. People stayed in New Orleans after Katrina for the same reason. It's not easy to leave. Things here are better than they seem and a lot of the hype is the media, thank goodness

The Japan system has a better containment unit..considering the Russian reactor was built with out one. I still say they are overblowing this whole thing. The animals around chernobyl are alive and reproduceing, the forrests thrive..they all just happen to be radioactive. Life adapts.

yes of course .. i will be always there for the rest of your life in the net ...

at moment the responsable person in japan ignore any international information to evacuate people out of that area, its really unbelieveable .. greenpeace made own measures of radiation ... but the politicans seems to be completely mad : otherwise there is no explanation for that ... even the japanes nuclear office says that people must be more evacuated than yet ... so, go out the area ... japan says 40 km, usa says 80 km and i say 500-1000 km ...

and they will not have a solution, it goes worser and worser now up to the chain reaction ... for that, go away as far as possible ... the action that they do at moment is only to save time, but no solution ... the meaning of all international specialist are told in our tv : the japanes make curious try to save but it will not help to stop it ...

i think it will be the biggest catastrophy in mankind and i think north japan will not be settleable for the next 250 thousand years ...

after chernobyl this is our second and last warning ... the third is the end ... nature hits back ... the mankind is not able to be respectful and responsable for the things they do ... thats a fact ... life is a great gift ... we must think about that ...

of course animals go in the zone and be radiated and will be ill or die .. you see them going there but you donnot know how long they will survive ... the animals which was in the catastroph time there are all shot down by a special team, cats, dogs, cows, all was killed of an 50 men special commando ... thats fact ...

and of course you cannot eat this fish ... if radiation is in your body you are definitive k.o. ... this is the badest dangerous thing you can do, to eat or drink s.th. from that radiated zone ...

You should be more scared about the black holes from the Large Hadron Collider at your border with Switzerland.
I mean LEAVE THE AREA, take a spaceship and zoom out of this galaxy. You already seem to be out of it a bit...but still to be sure, RUUUUUN for your life. If I can save at least a pair of blue jeans from the black hole, I can say my life is complete.
