Hello, I am German and just working on the subject wheather non-english native speakers use english online, especially at using Google. My questions are:

1. How are your knowledges in writing / reading english? Do you have an academic degree?

2. Do you search at Google with english keywords in general matters?

3. Do you search at Google with english keywords in specific matters?

Thanks for your help.

1. Just average, possibly below average. I don't really know or even care for that matter because you simply don't need English to live in Japan in the first place. And yes, I have a degree.
2. No, I seldom do.
3. Yes, I do when I think googling in English might yield better results.

Your Japanese proficiency shall be in direct proportion
to your true interest in the Japanese Mind.

As this is being asked in English, your results are definitely going to be skewed in favor of those who speak and use English online. I am not a native speaker, but to balance this I will give my husband`s answers (sick and at home bored today), translated into English for you.

1. Very poor, some technical reading ability. Yes, I have a degree.

2. No, never.

3. No. But sometimes English words are used in Japanese technical documents, so on those occasions I will search Japanese sites for information using the English word.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Hi.

1. Much less than masaeg's. So I have to say that my knowledge is very poor.
Though I like writing/reading English.

Yes. I have.

2. I don't know what is the general matters which are searched at Google.
If I search for "flowers", in order to know names of flowers in English, is it categorized as "general matters" or "specific matters"?

3. I search a lot in English. I sometimes use Google for proofreading of my English.
