It origionally started when I learned about sake(from watching anime). Every little tidbit I learn about Japan on a daily basis is interesting as hell. Love the society and the mentality, love the women too .

To be honest, it was my friend who got me hooked to visiting Japan. We were watching a movie and saw how beautiful cherry blossoms were. We planned to visit Japan on the season when it was to bloom, but suddenly, we did not make it in time as they had fallen off already. I learned that they just had 2 weeks to bloom until they shed those wonders.

With that visit though, I was able to appreciate Japan as a nation. I loved their food, the shopping and everything in between. I started taking Japanese classes when I got back home and it was a toilsome task! Though it is really worth it.

I think it's because BobbyCooper basically agrees with everything you say on the forum, plus you yourself are a self confessed Japanophile / weeaboo. Granted not as crazy as Bobby, but very apparent, as well as treating the Japanese like Gods.

The thing is,Bobby isn't polite. Also Celts have quite a few similarities with the Japanese.

Your comments are fair, & I have no argument against them. The Japanese (& majority or east Asians) are wonderful, polite, kind & helpful people. Of course though, I know Japan will have its a-holes. So I have a sense more realism than Bobby has

I've been interested in Japan and their culture since I was in 2nd grade (and I am now a Freshman College student--or will be in August). I don't think I really started to get into it until I was introduced to the movie Mulan and then later on Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, etc. etc. (and I'm highly aware that Mulan has nothing to do with the Japanese culture but I didn't know that at the time lol.) Video games came shortly after and I found myself obsessed with a lot of their music, manga, (some) Anime, and their J-RPGs.
/HUGE Final Fantasy fan/

Because of this, I've always had a huge fond of Japan and their culture, especially when I was in middle and high school and I started to learn more and more about them as well as become more interested in them and their mannerisims (and their language.)

これらは私が日本に興味がある理由です!

It's actually pretty random. I always thought that Japanese sounded cool since it was only syllables. So I wanted to learn how to swear in another language and I choose Japanese since it sounded cool. From there it made me interested in the whole language, and from that I was introduced to Japanese culture and it fascinated me since it was similar to the culture I live in but still very different.

Well,if you want to swear in another language, you've come to the wrong place! LOL!

When I was younger and less experienced, there was a troll on YouTube, and I didn't want to swear so I ended up saying this bizarrest mix of English and Japanese! I didn't know how to deal with people like that at the time.

Coz the japanese thoughts are similiar to mine. The history of Japanese is a fancination which is really amazing. It's just really similiar to my country in many ways. And of course I've been to Japan.

My interest built from reading some mangas and then when I started learning the language, I would read into the odd little bits of history.
