You will have a sad life if you ignore every "weaboo" on this site. Nobody uses that word in real life. If you asked the average British person what it meant they would have no clue. Japanese people recognise when somebody is being a Japanese wannabe and some people will hate them but they won't treat them as some kind of gang going round telling people the Japanese are better, like the yakuza!

I think you are by far the one who is ignorant bobby. (and after looking at some of your posts.. do you even know what the word ignorant means?, because a lot of things you say prove you to be ignorant).
And you never answered my question by the way. I want to hear specific examples as to why you see the Japanese mentality as so wonderful. Let's actually test your knowledge of Japan. So whip it out man. Show us you are not the one who is ignorant, and in fact are the high level guru that you basically present yourself to be. Hell let me expand on this and say, I want you to create a new topic called BC's essay on why Japan is better than the rest of the world and most of Asia. This is your chance man.. tell us in all your English education skills why Japan is the best thing this planet has to offer.. put it in real terms for us.. not just.. japan is better.. you is ignant.. let us understand with real facts about why you feel how you feel... is that too much to ask? |

I actually hear the term "weeaboo" a lot from other university students here in Japan. Sometimes it's the only way to describe some of the people here. Some people will exchange it with otaku every once in a while because the word can get stale.

I know, I just think you'll hear it more in circles where it's more appropriate. It's not like I heard it every time there was a Japan-obsessed kid like that in my high school classes in America. Just that now that I'm in Japan, it kind of makes sense to to have a division between the degree between yourself and others.

Or you could just all get along?
It's like 'Troll' used to be. It was years before I knew what troll meant. Do you want the internet to be a weird subculture or do you want everything to just be normal? |
