Ooh, that I will have to agree to, they know how to put people in a guilt trip, and find ways to convince you that it is criminal to not fulfill their demand. And the way they do it in that nagging, victimized voice is just downright annoying.....

I think thats beause they are the origin of most Asian fashion, that said, when you walk in to the country, they are always ahead of other Asian country as the others are playing catch up for obvious reason. The minute you set foot in Hong Kong or Taiwan, people don't appear to be as in touch with fashion because of this catch up, but locally, the people there will stil be following their local trend... you know what I mean???

Probably taking it too personally, but when someone attributes me to being a certain way because of my skin colour it's hard not to.
Oh Misa don't get me wrong here.. that is still just a "Stereotype" and every Western country has lovely, shy girls like you, who present themself like a true sweetheart in public.

But unfortunetly this seems to be the exception with Western Girls these days, especially English and American chicks. I wish it was different too and that girls would still act like lovely girls.

Most likely, thats the reason why you fancy Japan so much over other countries I do as well!

Oh dont get me wrong. Some are beautiful. My friends mother is absolutely gorgeous still in her forties. But then, some of EVERY group is beautiful. However, Ms. R is sure as hell not shy or submissive. (Although she is from Osaka...so hmm.)
You will find a lot of...er...not so pretty ones. A lot of guys I know who went with that kind of thinking came back and complained about the condition of teeth of a lot of people they saw. (This adds to another stereotype, that Japanese never take care of their teeth.)

You are also apparently expecting them to always be shy and submissive and always kind. Face it, Japanese is still a country, you will still get a lot of girls and boys who are jerks as well as some of the coolest people ever.

Um...no. Not that. Its just the same as any country. Some are gorgeous, some are okay, and some are...eh...this goes in personality too.

However... I would be wary of the people who seem soooo anxious to date you as soon as you come to Japan. You dont want to be the shiny toy that they want to be the first to play with.

No it's not the same as in any country.. this is Japan we are talking about. A completely different society with completely different people who have a compeltely different mindset.

But yea you can live in your dream that the Asian World is exactly like the Western World if you want lol

I dont have that kind of a dream. I have the kind of reality where its part of the world, and you see all types of people there. (Hell, if you had a mixi.jp, or was able to get it, I would show you through mine. That would so not be what you want. Believe me.)

Your dream is that Japan/Korea are the absolute superior for what they are, and in some ways, (Like baseball in my opinion) they are. But that kind of ultra-special thinking is very unrealistic.. Japan can be cool, as can Korea. But do not presume it all to go the way you want. I am going tomorrow, and if my ex-boyfriend/best friend was not taking care of me with his family, I would be so much more nervous for it could be anything-goes.

Oh it's certainly a part of this world, just a very different part!

But I just don't feel like you are mature enough to realize this yet..

Dude, I am pretty sure I know what I am talking about, since its established that you have not been around them that much in the end, and despite me not being a resident, I grew up with Japanese people who immigrated here. Ever since I was eight, I was preparing myself to go. I had the same kind of image YOU did when I was 13-14. I got rid of that quickly after my first real boyfriend was Japanese at age 16, and I got even closer to the community. Most of my friends went to japan or are in Japan now.

Do you even speak Japanese?
