Experience with Delta Airlines? - 07-21-2011, 02:17 PM

I am using Delta to leave. Now, this not my first time on a plane, but its my first time with Delta. (Dad recommended it....)

I wonder if anyone used them and how bad/good the experience was?

So I can be prepared. xD

Delta probably has one of the worst reps (flying domestically in the US).
I thought it might be different flying internationally (Japan to Taiwan), but it was just as bad as I'd heard. The smell of jet fuel permeating the cabin, crying babies and kids horseplaying in the aisles, uncomfortable arrangements, etc.

Yeah, I even just Google'd "Delta Airline Reviews" for kicks, and the average ratings are like 2/5, 3.5/10, etc.

Well I mean everyone has a different experience. Not too long ago, we had a discussion about different flights and one of the trends was that many users didn't like Air Canada. I, however, thought they were quite decent to fly with considering the price of the flight, and have no complaints.
The biggest difference though is that I think there's a much larger consensus for the dislike of Delta though

I already know the customer service sucks. First woman for the first time hurried me and was indeed very rude. Second was a man who misunderstood and sent me wrong info. Third was decent, but you can tell she was losing patience and tired. (I was calling due to information that i realized I needed each time and did not have.)

The whole issue they had with the American Military also put a negative light on them..

This is the problem with the Internet. Everyone wants to know exactly what they are going to experience before they actually experience it. Convince yourself you are going to have a terrible flight, and surely you will. Go in with an open mind, and it might be the flight of your life.

lol yeah. It's kind of like trying to plan the "perfect day", "perfect date", "perfect night at the club", etc... It never is as good as you imagine it. Then you have nights where you just go with the flow without too many plans and it's one-hell-of-a-night.

Also, I read a lot that cash (or the lack of it) is an issue when traveling so if your cash strapped then just as long as both propellers work on the plane who cares if there's livestock staring at you

It's a long plane ride. It sucks. Just bring the things you need... like books, DS, iPad, whatever, to keep up occupied in a tiny space for 10 hours.
