Cat Day - 02-23-2016, 04:37 AM

So apparently Feb. 22nd was "Cat Day" in Japan.
This is apparently due to two in Japanese being pronounced as "ni" and as such, 222 (22nd day of the 2nd month) stands for "nya nya nya" (the way Japanese cats meow).

I imagine its a bit like our "May the 4th be with You" (where May the 4th is considered "Star Wars day").

The 29th day of every month is Meat Day because 29 is read as "NI-KU" in Japanese. The 3rd of March is known as the girl's day in Japan and is also the day of the Ear because 3-3 is read as "MI-MI" in Japanese.

There are many puns of the date for almost every day in the year.
