Japan announces more aid for developing nations
Japan will provide additional aid worth 50 million dollars to developing nations to help them deal with surging food prices. Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura told reporters on Friday that Japan would provide the aid by October. The Japanese government earlier pledged 200 million dollars in assistance. Developing nations have been hit hard by rising food prices, and the issue is expected to be a key topic at the Group of Eight summit in Hokkaido next week. 2008/07/04 13:12 NHK WORLD English |
