Guitar prices in Japan -
06-23-2008, 10:08 PM
I have been told by a mutual friend that the price of Guitars in Japan are well cheap, although they charge through the roof for a hard case to suit. I was looking at getting a Rickenbacker at a cost of about $3,000.00 Aus, he told me i could pick one up for the equivalent of $1,000.00 Aus plus prob $200 - $300 for a hard case.
He said head down to the Ochanomizu area in Tokyo. Do any peeps know if there is any truth to this story? Sound s a bit to good to be true. |

I don`t know all that much about guitars, and nothing about their prices, but here is a link for Rickenbacker models that seems to reflect the general prices around the net. (Discount)
If you tell me the model number, I`ll be happy to do a quick search for specific prices. |

The cheapest I could find anywhere was in the 250,000yen range. So... It does look like they are cheaper than in Aus - but certainly not at the levels your friend suggested. But it appears that most places in Japan include the hard case.
