Meiji Shrine Illuminated!

The Meiji Jinguu Shrine will be fully-illuminated this weekend for the first time in its history. If you happen to be around Tokyo then, you might not want to miss out on this grand event.

Friday, Oct. 31 & Saturday, Nov. 1
17:30 - 20:30

Some of the features besides the illumination on all the shrine buildings include:

Huge lazer torii in the sky over the Jinguu Bridge.

800-meter-long light carpet on the South Approach.

Concerts (accoustic, needless to say) and

Parades (Nov. 1 only) on Omote-Sandou Street.

I rode my bicycle to Harajuku today, and I saw them setting up the lanterns and such at Yoyogi park, I was wondering what was going on. I suppose I'll have to go see it next weekend for myelf.

some of them are really nice, i think if you manage to get some pics for the Meiji Shrine, it will be great to put them up there too. I registered as contributor to both sites, but haven't contribute anything yet... will do so soon though
