Please keep in mind that I won't be driving. It'll all be walking and train routes for us. PIONEERS!

...Anyway...

Are you sure there will be limousine buses bringing people anywhere they need to go from the Narita airport? It was my understanding they just transport you to the Hilton hotel... or something... Also, how would we get back to the airport from Yokohama? Would there be limousine buses at the hotel to take us back to the Narita airport? We'd probably stay in the Sakuragicho Washington Hotel. It's the cheapest and it's close to both locations.

With the transportation to/from the airport/hotel down, let's focus on Midoriyama. Shinjuku seems rather out of the way if I'm staying in Yokohama. So, from the Washington hotel, what would I do?

I tried reading the information you gave me, but there's one major flaw in the site's system. I can't translate the PICTURES to English. :P

All I could figure out from the information you gave me and Google Earth is that I'd need to get on some line in Yokohama (don't even know the station I would need to go to) and I'd have to end up at the Nagatsuta station. From there, I'd have to take the Kodomonokuni line to the Kodomonokuni station, where my train adventures would end and I would take a bus, hail a cab or maybe even just walk.

Then, coming home, I'd... um... I guess do everything in reverse?

As for Muscle Park... I haven't even tried. My head already hurts.

I know. So it would likely take even longer

Yokohama Line - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sakuragicho station is on the JR Yokohama line

Shin-Yokohama station is on the JR Yokohama line

Take limousine bus from Narita to Shin-Yokohama station. Then take the train from Shin Yokohama to Sakuragicho station to get to your hotel.

YOKOHAMA SAKURAGICHO WASHINGTON HOTEL

To get to Midoriyama take the train from Sakuragicho to Nagatsuta (You will pass through Shin-Yokohama station.)

Midoriyama is 10 minutes by taxi from JR Nagatsuta Station (Yokohama line).

It really couldn't be easier.

If I prayed, it'd probably be to you. Thank you so much.

I didn't exactly understand all of that until I got on Wikimapia and Google Earth and I now have every station bookmarked and I even traced my route from the Sakuragicho station to the Nagatsuta station.

Does this mean that you don't recommend taking the train from the Nagatsuta station to the Kodomonokuni station? I hear taxi prices are outrageous.

The map I sent you has Nagatsuta in the NE corner and the web site said 10 minute taxi ride to Midoriyama (the green thing in the middle). It doesn't show Kodomokuni station on that map

横浜線成瀬駅、長津田駅、東急田園都市線青葉台駅、長 津田駅、小田急線鶴川駅からタクシーも利用可能。

This is access to Midoriyama Studio according to Wikipedia, and it doesn't mention Kodomonokuni either.

A 10 minute taxi ride will likely be 10 to 15 dollars US. And you don't have to tip.

Taxi station? Are there stations or do we just wait for a taxi with a red light to drive by?

There are "taxi stations" in front of every trains station. Go west out of Nagatsuta station and you should see some.

The Japanese word for taxi is "taxi" so it will be easy to find.

Now, what about the return to our hotel after we're done in Midoriyama? The recording has been known to last until one or later in the morning. Will there still be taxis, buses and the like?

Ah yes...great question. I have heard they sometimes go to 3AM...which isn't uncommon for Japanese TV shows.

I don't know the Yokohama line exactly, but in general the trains stop running around midnight and start again around 5AM. I wouldn't count on buses to run at that time either. That could be a hefty taxi fare. That's when you need to buddy up with your fellow competitors.
