Traveling between Chiba and Ibaraki

I need to get some info about traveling between Yotsukaido, Chiba, and Ami, Ibaraki. According to my distance calculator, the two are only 26.5 miles apart. However, according to GoogleMaps, it's about a 3 hour commute. Surely one has to be wrong. Can someone with actual experience tell me how far it really is, and how long it actually takes by train and/or car? Thanks!

Googlemaps is correct. I used to travel there by train and that trip took me nearly 3 hours to get there

According to Hyperdia, Chiba to Ibaraki is about 600km and it takes almost 4 hours to travel.. that is rather strange...
