Smile Look more other parts of japan too. - 08-20-2010, 03:51 PM

Hello, i`m 22 years old boy from japan.

I have some friends in oversea, but they just know Tokyo or Osaka and such cities. I`m from japan and have friends in Tokyo, and think there is fun place. But i`m from more north area called MIYAGI, and i like my area and proud about here, so i want people interest Miyagi more and more.
Here have many nice things too like big city called Sendai, Populer sight seeing spot called Matsushima, and good nature too.

So i`m glad if you get interest Miyagi even lil bit

Oh but anyway, Tokyo and such famous cities are nice place too(Maybe, i just have been Tokyo, not Osaka), so yeah, just wanted say there is many interesting places.

That's a respectable wish. Admittedly, I hadn't heard of Miyagi until now, but I'll pay my acknowledgement.

Neither Tokyo nor Osaka are really my main points of interest in Japan, in fact. I have particular interests in places like Kanagawa, Kyoto, and Okinawa. I am definitely willing to explore other regions of Japan.

Of course, people will instantly know Tokyo, & perhaps Kyoto & Osaka. But I like Japan as a whole & some great places can be found outwith the main cities. I'll look for Miyagi in my travel guide book. But I like other places like Aomori, Akita, Sapporo & Fukuoka

Yeah, i think most Tokyo and Osaka are more well known, thats why most of the literature and news surround these major cities.

But i agree, there are TONES of nice places all over japan.....

Personally I really dislike big cities. I've never really understood why people would travel to see a city. I love the natural world not the man made one and Japan has some of the most amazing natural landscapes I've ever seen. Fully recommend people getting off the beaten track a bit to see just how incredibly amazing and beautiful this country is. Tokyo and Osaka may be fun but they are hardly beautiful.

True, but you have to understand, big cities are the ones thats developed, and will have the required skills to accomodate tourist, as such, country will spend more money advertising these cities which is portrait to be more tourist friendly. Its not that the other parts are not tourist friendly, but its just that they don't get as much coverage and not as well known to the outside world

I'm in Yamagata, and it's a very pretty place, especially with the mountains nearby. Maybe you could show them that part or just someplace in Tohoku area anyway, like Sendai. I haven't been to Sendai yet myself, but I have heard good things about the place.

I know of Yamagata from the J.League. The local football (soccer) team being Montedio Yamagata. I think football (soccer) also help make people aware of places outside Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka.
