Best website for deals on tickets? Help please - 05-22-2011, 04:51 PM

I am going to Kyusyu, using Fukuoka airport. Around July 30th, 31st.

I will come back from there on August 15th.
I have been looking all over online for really great deals, but the best I found was hotwire.com, for around $1250.30
I wanna save money, for various reasons, but its hard. I tried using three different aiports. (Fresno- my hometown, and San Fransisco and Los Angeles...San Fransisco was cheapest.)

If I am missing anything to help save more money, please let me know. I know going in July is usually more expensive anyways, which is why I chose end of the month. (Also, I cannot change date. I NEED to be in Hita-shi, Oitaken around this time.)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I`m also going to recommend IACE. I always use them - if you get lucky on the dates, they have some really good deals.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Sorry to double post...But do deals sometimes get better the closer to date? And why is airport affecting price?

Sometimes flights don't originate from where you'd like. If you're closer to SFO, but the better deal is out of LAX, you have to factor the flight from SFO to LAX. You'll find better deals flying into major hubs too, like KIX Osaka or NRT Tokyo because the flight into Fukuoka has to be taken into consideration as well....

But I dont have the money to take bus/shinkansen to fukuoka...I know its smarter, but not as convenient.

Actually, correction, not that I dont have the money, I dont have the willpower for constant travel beyond a flight.

Gahhhh

I flew with KLM [typed NHK for a moment there!] to Amsterdam and then went from there to Narita. It was good value for money, the vegetarian food was brilliant, but Amsterdam is not for me. Still, whatever's cheapest.
