Airline: ANA (All Nippon Airways)
When: August 2010
Flight Class: Economy
Departure: Dulles Washington DC International Airport - Tokyo Narita Airport
Experience: Incredible experience. I wasn't sure about the true difference between ANA and JAL, but I went with ANA as I got a decent deal. It was a great flight. Attendants all professional, clean plane, really good food for a flight (tenpura chicken and cold udon). We even arrived a bit early. I've never flown JAL, but if someone offered my a deal with ANA I'd take it in a heartbeat probably without seeing JAL's offer.

Airline: Delta
Flight Class: Economy
Departure: Tokyo Narita Airport - Taipei Taoyuan International Airport
Experience: Epic fail. I mean, Delta is a joke back in the states, but for cheap tickets and only a 3 hour flight, we thought we'd be safe. We were wrong. Terrible service, gasoline smell permeating the plane, attendants not telling a parent to shut up their kid.

Airline: Air Canada
Flight Class: Economy
Departure: Tokyo Narita Airport - Baltimore/Washington International Airport
Experience: It seems like a lot of people here don't like Air Canada, but I found their service decent enough. The staff was ok, the food was alright, and I was able to get some good sleep without being disturbed. One thing that I thought was great was their selection of movies/tv/etc on their in-flight On Demand service. They had all kinds of new movies that I hadn't seen yet, which was really cool (everyone had their own personal tv).

Airline: KLM
Flight Class: Can't remember what you'd call it
Departure: Went from Birmingham
Experience: There was vegetarian food,I remember the food being particularly good,I watched Toy Story 3 on the way there and the Karate Kid on the way back. The only complaint was that I didn't think much of Amsterdam,I liked flying over the Netherlands though, and I left an umbrella on a bus there!
I think I would have liked to stop somewhere more in the middle. I don't like those small rubbishy things you go on when you're just going to European places.

So this was a flight from Birmingham to Amsterdam to Tokyo?

Airline: PAL ( Philippine Airlines )
When: 2000,2001,2004, 2006, 2010
Flight Class: Econonmy
Departure: Narita / Kansai <-> Cebu
Experience: I have never have any problems with them. On 2000, I was soo tired when I boarded the plane, I instantly fell asleep. I woke up with the smell of food, I ate and sleep, and woke up again with a drink in my front. Food was OK,sometimes way overcooked for my taste. Staff were polite.

Airline: Cathy Pacific
When: 2002
Flight Class: Economy
Departure: Cebu-Hongkong-Kansai ; Narita-HongKong-Cebu
Experience: Food was much better than PAL. Staff were polite. Each passenger has her/his own monitor.

---------------------------------

I will be flying with China Airlines to Taipei next week, so I will update later

I bet!!! That was 74 years ago! She left the islands a year after the liberation....

As for me, it's too hot a place for me to go. Even in winter, it's too hot and humid for my taste....

Heh, that's surprising. I always hear really bad things about PAL. :L
Never flown them myself though, so I only go on what I've heard around.

Same here, but they monopolize the airline industry in The Philippines so no choice. Cathay Pacific is a bit pricey and you need to stop over in HongKong.
But personally, I have never have any problems with PAL. The staff were always polite to me and ready to serve and they take me to my destination safely and the plane does not stink so I am good with that.

Whenever I go home, I always make it a point to go directly to Cebu and not Manila..

Right now, there is a cheap airline from Kansai-Manila : Cebu Pacific. I have not used them yet.
