If I were to speculate, the discontinuation of the TV series Sasuke must have been a major blow. I hear Joypolis has expanded since the closure of M.P.

Little Hong Kong was in the same building as Joypolis but according to Wiki, it was closed down at the end of 2010.

Hmm. Sasuke? Never heard of it actually.. what is it? Why would it affect MP?

Hmm.. ok, so things keep closing down around Daiba... Interestingly, when I was in Daiba in 2006, it was BUSY, but when i returned in 2007, it wasn't as busy, and there are areas that resemble some cheaply built structure.. .. and in 2008 and 2009, when i went back, it really was just nothing more than just "another area"

i was surprise at the drastric change in a mere few months...

Is that a typo or did you say Sasuke has been discontinued?! Nothing lasts forever I suppose... This is sad news indeed. There will always be something new that comes along. Is there anything like that on tv at the moment Masaegu-sama?

at this rate Maybe Chitose M.P will be closed before my plane even takes off...?

Perhaps you know it by its North American name "Ninja Warrior"? The major attractions at Muscle Park are modeled after the obstacles used in Sasuke.

Odaiba from its conception is what I call a dinosaur of the Bubble Period. The astronomically expensive man-made island was to flourish only if Tokyo and the rest of the country were to maintain a healthy economic growth. There are tons of these dinosaurs througout the country --- from theme parks to large concert halls, from huge hotels to gigantic malls --- all in smaller towns. Very few of them yielded enough profits and most have been closed.

It was not a typo, I am sad to say as a fan. Nothing like that is on TV right now as far as I know. There is a rumour Sasuke might come back as a one-off special around New Year's but it will not be a full comeback.

I really do not feel like predicting about the Chitose M.P. I hate to make my laddie cry.

The production company(Monster9) has caused some problems.
*Tax evasion
*Reduction of unjustified pay(intimidation) @Muscle musical
*Unfair dismissal(intimidation) @Muscle musical
*Injury of performing TV personality
*The serious illness was put out in the program.

&
*Unpopularity of TV media in Japan
*Decreased receipts of 60% or more from glory period

precarious situation

I think we may have to sadly give Chitose a miss looking at travel costs and travel time for my friends and I. Would have to devote a whole trip to Hokkaido at somepoint for it to be worthwhile. Maybe 2014 lol.

I am however open to any suggestions as we will be exploring the Osaka side of Japan which is unkown territory to us. Plus if any of my buddies from JF are out and about Japan in August 2012 it would be awesome to meet up for a drink etc

There is always the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, which you may not find big enugh.

The one I am dying to go to is this one in Fukui.
