But to despair was to wish back for something already lost.
Or to prolong what was already unbearable.

I think "scared to go to Japan" is like saying "scared to go to Disneyland".

no, not really. you don't have to worry about cultural beliefs in disneyland. going to a new country is a lot tougher.

You don't really need to worry about "cultural beliefs" in Japan. It's not like people are going to try to kill you if you name your teddy bear "Akihito".

It's one of the safest places in the world, the people are mild-mannered and friendly (to over-generalize) and if you are a open-minded person with no ill intentions you have nothing to be afraid of....kinda like Disneyland.

it's not about people becoming violent, it's about insulting people unintentionally.

i come from asia, i know we're not savages. it's just those practiced beliefs that .. if you're not familiar with, you end up insulting somebody. -_-;;

Japanese people are more laid-back than people think. It's pretty hard to insult someone culturally unless you try to on purpose. Follow the ques and you'll be fine.

i just remember when foreigners came to asia, ehh.. there were things they did that they didn't realize they were doing. people were still nice to them, but behind their backs it's another story.

*sigh*
