Wow. Had I known this thread would cause such a pointless outroar, I`d have never posted it in the first place.
I don`t really agree with it being the the Japan trips section, as these are basically hobby photos... I just happen to live in Japan. I`m on no trip here.

Anyway, some more photos.

Power lines at dusk.

A long exposure, so a bit blurred... Loading the lanterns on to a boat to take out to sea on Obon.

A bridge.

And the small town on the other side of the bridge.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Are these taken within close proximity of your town/house?

Some yes, some no.
First pic and second pics in the thread are kind of close - in Nagoya.
#3 is a good 2 hour trip away. #4 is literally just around the corner. I forget where I took #5, but definitely somewhere in Nagoya as it is the only series of pics I took that day. #6 is along the northern coast, near the family home (our family lantern is on the boat). #7 and 8 are the same general area as #3.

Phew.

Nyororin, I was aware that you do indeed live in Japan, and are not just simply traveling around.

This section seemed to be the only place that having pictures of Japan aren't complained about, so I chose this.

The view from the red bridge is fantastic, the one of the shore with the rocks also caught my eye.

Do you have any shots from perhaps a trek through the woods? I'd enjoy to see, I know a lot of little shrines are scattered throughout forests.

Because this is an individual`s thread, not a thread for general pics of Japan. Check the title.

I have yet to come upon little lost shrines in forests... But I did manage to find a number of small statues erected to appease the spirits of those killed in the battle of Kurikara, which were off of what remained of the ancient Hokuriku path. Some of the statues are supposedly from soon after the battle in 1183.

Part of the footpath - The steps are 500+ years old, apparently.

Broken statue in a stone shelter that was added later.

More statues. The oldest is the one on the right, which was erected prior to 1200.

Another worn down pre-1200 lump of a statue.

And... A closer look at the old stairs from the first pic. They were extremely steep, and extremely shallow. It was kind of scary going down them.
