Hi
Greetings to the forum There is a fps game by id software, Quakelive I used to play sometimes with my friends. There is one map I really like, Japanese Castles. There are several pictures on the walls (like this, or this), but I already identified all of them except the one in the attached file. Could one of you please help me find the "source of this picture, or where may I find a high-res version? Any help would be greatly appreciated ps.: I got the pic from the game files, so I guess it's the property of id software, and all rights are reserved |

Oh, there is a Japanese Art sub-forum I didn't know about.
I'm really sorry for that, perhaps one of the mods could be nice and move this thread over there Thanks |

Thank you very much sir I wonder if id made it blueish for the game since the original is BW only, but I will just recolor the wiki version. Many thanks indeed!

As the writing on top right says, it was probably used as one of the illustrations in the book named 「古今婦人倭風俗」, which roughly translates to "Ancient and Modern Manners and Customs of Japanese Women". The painting's title is 「卯月」, which means "April". The book was published in 1892. Your Japanese proficiency shall be in direct proportion
to your true interest in the Japanese Mind. |
