It all depends on where and when you grew up. In the Western, people usually have a tan when they get back from their vacation, so having a tan means that you have money to go on vacation. Why (some or alot, I dunno) Asian people want to be white was already explained (working = tan). And in the time of Rome, cellulites was populair because they liked 'big' women. (I forgot why, though). If you don't believe me, look up some paintings of that time.
For those people who made racist remarks, I'm very dissapointed. I wonder if they will change if they were discriminated because of their background. Oh, and English is not my native language, so there may be mistakes in it. Please don't mind them. |

I don't think all these explanation are true..
Well, nowadays.... C'mon, like people would really lose they time by thinking at this all. I'm asian, and I want white skin so that it could contrast with my hair color.( so that I could look like Snow White ) As for my caucasian friend, they want tanner skin because they think they are too white( like a ghost). But reason is different from anybody. Some white ppl would want to stay white. and some dark skin ppl wouldn't care if they were darker. that's it. |

i think that white skin is alot easier for you to put make-up on. see with white skin you could put on any color and it will show, or you could use foundation to make lighter colors show up more, so to say, it is easier to put a few light make-up touches on when you don't have to cram it on like crazy just to make it show... and no i am not white ^^
