Scene kids always look very inspired by Japanese visual style to me.
If you search on Google for "scene fashion" or "scene girls" you will see photos of a lot of people who look like they might be into VK, only they have probably never heard of it. And, some of them even have a lot of hello kitty type accessories. I think there must be influence on the scene fashion from Japan, even if many of the scene kids don't know it.
